I will work with you to tailor your wedding ceremony to fulfil your dreams for this special occasion by listening carefully to your ideas and by sharing my resources – we will work together to make it one of the most wonderful days of your lives.

My fee covers end-to-end integrated service which begins with the initial enquiry and includes:
•    Assistance with the official paperwork and a meeting to work out what you would like your ceremony to include;
•    Assistance with selecting readings, vows and rituals etc;
•    Writing your ceremony to reflect the legal requirements, your needs and cultural wishes;
•    As many phone calls and emails as needed to fine tune your ceremony to ensure it is perfect for YOU;
•    A rehearsal two weeks before the wedding;
•    The wedding conducted in accordance with the law and your own wishes;
•    Provision of a PA system to ensure that all guests can hear the ceremony clearly;
•    Completion of all legal documentation and registration of your marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages; and
•    The opportunity for you to provide feedback on my services.

 

The initial meeting:
The initial meeting is where the legal proceedings begin in accordance with the Marriage Act 1961 and the Marriage Regulations 1963. You need to complete an application form (Notice of Intended Marriage) and I can help with this, but you also need to provide evidence of your legitimacy to be married under Australian Law. That evidence includes:
•    An original Birth Certificate (if you were born in Australia) or an Australian Passport
•    A current Passport (if you were born Overseas)
•    Any Divorce or Nullity Papers (if you have been previously married)
•    A Death Certificate if that is how your previous marriage ended
•    Photo ID such as a valid Driver’s Licence
•    A Statutory Declaration (if applicable, declaring your legitimacy to be married under Australian Law)
•    Any Court Orders as required
(At some stage prior to your actual Marriage Ceremony -usually at the rehearsal -you must complete a Form 14 (Impediment to Marriage) in which you declare that you are both legally eligible to be married under Australian Law. I will provide you with this Form.)
This is an important meeting for another reason. You may or may not have some ideas about how you want your ceremony to be conducted and this is the opportunity to talk through those ideas. Don’t worry if you don’t know where to start – that’s what I’m here for. 
There are several legal requirements that must be adhered to in order to ensure that your wedding is a valid marriage under Australian Law, and it is my responsibility to make sure that happens. That said, there are many ways to personalise your wedding and we will talk through those together. Please be assured that all information you provide me with is kept in accordance with Australian Privacy Laws.
We will talk about whether you want a serious ceremony, or funny – even quirky. Will it be an intimate affair or involve a “cast of thousands”? Will it be simple or involve intricate rituals? Will children be involved? Will it be laid back and relaxed or a very structured event? As I find out more about you as a couple we will work through these questions and fine tune YOUR perfect ceremony which will be enjoyed by everyone attending.
